Job Title: Technical Sales Representative

Department: Sales

Reporting To: Director, North American Business Development

Job Purpose: Drive growth in sales and customer satisfaction by providing sales and technical support to new and existing customers and increasing our business with them. The ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic and a quick learner with a strong farming background and solid knowledge of commercial harvesting equipment and replacement parts.

Our SCH®, EWM®, Rasspe® and Radura® brands provide customer specific cutting and baling solutions in all of the world’s key harvest regions.

As the Technical Sales Representative, you will be the “go-to” contact for all technical issues. You will build relationships with both existing and new OEM and Aftermarket customers. You will provide ongoing technical services for and grow sales of our products across North America. You work well in a fast-paced, customer service focused environment and enjoy contributing to a growing company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales of GROUP SCHUMACHER products to new and existing customers across North America.
  • Identify potential customers and their demand for GROUP SCHUMACHER products
  • Provide sales and technical support to our OEM and Aftermarket distributors
  • Be a key contact for technical issues and answer customers’ technical questions on all Group Schumacher products and systems
  • Work closely with customers, Germany and internal resources to find solutions to customers’ problems. Take ownership of customer issues and see problems through to resolution
  • Collaborate with and support the Group Schumacher North America team to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Stay informed on all company services and products in order to effectively answer customer inquiries
  • Conduct market research on the newest and most relevant harvesters, mowers and other agricultural machines; be knowledgeable on competitive products and pricing
  • Travel up to 40% to attend exhibitions and other company events, as needed, throughout the year
  • Participate in technical, sales and training presentations for customers and employees.
  • Assist Head of Sales with additional tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in technical sales preferred
  • Strong background in the Agriculture Industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent people skills; able to engage customers and coworkers effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude
  • Strong time management skills; detail oriented and able to multi-task effectively
  • Able to work effectively as an individual contributor and a team member
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
